The TX81Z could be thought of as the bigger brother to the FB01 midi FM tone module introduced in 1986. Tones are provided by a 4 operator, 8 algorhithm system as with the FB01, DX100, 27 & 21.
The TX81Z is a 1 space rack mountable instrument with programming function built in. In addition
- it is an 8 voice multi-timbral with 128 preset sounds (4 banks X 32)
- 32 programmable presets
- microtonality
- 3 digital effects including midi delay / midi chord / panning
- and for the first time in an FM synthesizer the user can create sounds using non sine wave waveforms.
8 different waveforms are provided as the basic wave. New LSI chips allow higher resolution of the envelopes for better sound quality.
