The ESI-4000 has a set of features that are unprecedented: 64-voice polyphony, up to 128 MB of sample RAM, 64 digital 6-pole filters (18 different types), and a host of powerful DSP features (including: time compression/expansion, parametric EQ and digital tuning). Creating samples is fast and efficient with the ESI-4000's built-in sampling and editing tools which include: manual and automatic truncation, cross-fade looping, gain change, normalization, and automatic correlation for easy-to-find loop points. Add to this 10 programmable trigger buttons for firing off grooves without having to use a keyboard, and you have an indispensable tool for all of your music-making and sound-generating projects. Extreme expandability

Standard with the Turbo version of the ESI-4000, the ESI Turbo Option Kit offers two additional stereo subouts, an effects stereo submix, a 24-bit dual stereo-effects processor, and S/PDIF digital I/O. With one easy-to-install upgrade, a standard ESI-4000 can be turned into an even more powerful audio tool. The effects section offers more than 30 effects and 4 stereo submixes per processor. High-quality reverb, delays, chorus, flange, and even distortion algorithms are provided, and the extra outputs and digital I/O give you greater mixing and sampling flexibility. Plus, the ESI-4000's sampling memory can be upgraded to 128 MB with inexpensive, easy-to-get 72-pin SIMMs. That's over 23 minutes of mono sampling at a sample rate of 44.1kHz.
